From the moment I arrived in Tenerife, my stay at Royal River was nothing short of extraordinary. After a seamless 25-minute transfer from the airport, the elegance of the hotel’s lobby and its breathtaking views set the tone for what would be an unforgettable experience. As I made my way to my River Villa, I caught glimpses of the lush gardens, serene surroundings, and the unique oasis that defines Royal River.

The villa itself was a masterpiece. Every detail had been thoughtfully curated, from the luxurious living area that opened onto a private terrace and pool to the 80-metre river shared exclusively by the villas. Upstairs, two beautifully designed bedrooms awaited, each with a freestanding bath, a spacious shower, double sinks, and ample wardrobe space.

A Luxurious Escape to Royal River, Tenerife

Lunch at the Pineapple restaurant was a delight, with a diverse menu enjoyed poolside amidst the resort’s tranquil ambiance. Later, I took full advantage of the villa’s unique feature—a private pool that flowed seamlessly into the shared river, offering a peaceful swim surrounded by palm trees and lush greenery. Dinner that evening was hosted at Jardin, the restaurant in the sister hotel, Royal Garden Villas. The service was impeccable, and the food was exceptional. Guests staying on half board are treated to one dinner at Jardin, and I can’t recommend it enough—it’s an experience not to be missed.

The following morning began with an incredible breakfast buffet at Pineapple, offering everything from freshly baked pastries to cold cuts and hot dishes. Afterwards, I joined the sales manager, Yaiza, for a tour of both Royal River and its sister property, Royal Garden Villas. Each property offers something unique: Royal Garden Villas is ideal for families and groups, with kitchen-equipped villas and private pools, while Royal River’s adults-only exclusivity and intimate villas make it the perfect retreat for couples.

The attention to detail across both properties was remarkable, as was the warmth of the staff, who made every interaction feel personal and welcoming. In the afternoon, I indulged in the hotel’s spa facilities—a haven of relaxation featuring a heated indoor pool with waterfalls, waterbeds, a sauna, steam room, and an ice fountain. That evening, dinner at the Flamingo restaurant was a feast for the senses. With sunset views, live music, and a barbecue featuring dishes like wagyu brisket and grilled lobster, it was an unforgettable meal.

The highlight of my stay came on the final day—a private yacht excursion departing from Costa Adeje. The stunning views of Mount Teide served as a backdrop as we sailed, and the experience was elevated further by encounters with Pilot Whales and a playful pod of dolphins, including a calf. Watching these incredible creatures swim alongside the boat felt like a scene from a nature documentary. We ended the excursion with a refreshing swim in a secluded cove, a moment of pure serenity.

For the grand finale, dinner at the rooftop restaurant, The Top, was a fitting end to a perfect stay. With panoramic views of the island, live piano music, and dishes prepared tableside, the meal was a true celebration of luxury. We concluded the evening with a drink on the terrace, reflecting on the unforgettable experiences Royal River had provided.
