Route 66, also known as the ‘Mother Road’ is possibly the most famous highway in the United States and, while you can’t drive the full length of the original route, many segments are still accessible and waiting for you to explore.

Established in 1926, Route 66 stretched for around 2,448 miles from Chicago to Santa Monica. It was decommissioned in 1985 and replaced by modern interstates but many roadside attractions, diners, motels, and landmarks still stand as a reminder of the bygone era.
