Yukon Gold - Self-Drive Tour

The Yukon is a pristine wilderness area with a rich cultural heritage, fascinating gold rush history, legendary road trips, breathtaking scenery, trails to hike and rivers to paddle, all wrapped up in Northern hospitality. Here, you can enjoy the glorious midnight sun and the magical northern lights, a bucket list item for so many travellers. Whitehorse, the capital city, is an eclectic mix of old and new buildings and has an amazing restaurant scene. Between 1896 and 1899, the Klondike region was home to thousands of gold prospectors and Dawson City, retains much of the history of that time. Kluane National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to seventeen of Canada’s tallest mountains including Mount Logan, Canada’s highest peak and the largest non-polar icefields in the world. Our itinerary crosses over to Alaska at Tok on the famed Alaska Highway.
