The capital Ljubljana is exquisite with a river running through it and bridges depicting the architecture of Slovenia’s most famous national – Joze Plecnik.
Lake Bled – Fairy-tale, teardrop shaped island, church with a wishing bell and a cliff-top castle. Horse-drawn carriages around the lake and boats take you across it or walk around it in about 90 minutes. Bars and restaurants here and in the centre.
Lake Bohinj – Slovenia’s largest lake. Walkers love it. Walk round in about two hours. Savica Waterfall is near. Cafés, restaurants and bars near the lake with more in the pretty village of Bohinjska Bistrica, nearby.
